NZSBA is fully integrated into the New Zealand psychotherapy and counselling communities, and members also belong to national organisations such as NZAP, NZAC and ANZASW.
NZSBA is currently an approved training provider with the Psychotherapy Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ), and members who graduate from this training programme as Certified Bioenergetic Therapists (CBT) will be able to apply for registration as a psychotherapist with PBANZ.
Over the next three years psychotherapy training programmes in New Zealand will be assessed for accreditation by PBANZ. NZSBA will be applying for accreditation of their training programme once the new criteria have been established. In the meantime, students who complete the Bioenergetic Training starting at the beginning of 2016 will still be eligible to become registered psychotherapists on the basis of the present PBANZ criteria.
